Rick Parkhill

Rick Parkhill, Founder/Chairman

Rick has been infatuated with and immersed in the interactive media business for over 15 years as a publisher, journalist, event producer, consultant and advisor.

He is the founder and CEO of iMedia Communications, a leading source of information on interactive marketing and advertising. iMedia's newsletter and website www.imediaconnection.com provide over 24,000 advertisers and their agencies with essential information, case studies, interviews and industry resources. The quarterly iMedia Summits bring together the top 300 advertisers and their agencies with the online media community to advance the business of interactive advertising.

Rick's experience in interactive media pre-dates the Internet explosion of the 1990s. In 1988, he launched InfoText, the first magazine to cover interactive marketing and advertising, and served as the president of InfoText Publishing.

In 1994, Rick served as a founding member and executive advisor for Interactive Marketing, Inc (IMI). The company was the first to provide website sales representation, and its client list included: AT&T, Netscape, Yahoo!, NBC and other top sites.

In 1997, Parkhill launched Digitrends magazine and served as CEO of the company until 2001.

As observer, thought-leader, journalist and speaker on the evolution of media, Parkhill is a well-known spokesperson for the industry. His views have been published in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Advertising Age and DIRECT Magazine. He has appeared on many television programs, including CNN, 20/20 and the Oprah Winfrey Show.
