But once we got into it, we saw more and more videos that would be more fit for a 'viral'-type campaign. And then our clients started asking more and more for that as the buzz around that model keeps getting hotter in the marketplace and as they believe it to be a less-expensive outlet for their media. You did right. That's what we asked for, and that's what they wanted. As for posting to YouTube, we say specifically that we don't allow people to post their videos on sharing sites. If people do, that's of their own accord, no because we told them to. Brands are very careful about this and have a vested interest in protecting their brand image online and off. I was always under the assumption that these video's were being made solely on the purpose of TV advertisement. Which now I am understanding that it is not. If they wanted Youtube ads I would have geared my work that way. I didnt know that I could make an ad that would be for web viral use. I mean most people have posted their work on youtube and other sites such as youtube even before the clients chose a video. So to me that means they are getting free advertisement anyway.
