What is the Assignment Name?
The name entered here will, in combination with the brand name, uniquely identify this specific assignment within Poptent. It can be used to search for the assignment within the site and will be typically used by the community in discussions about the assignment.
Ideally, the name should be short, i.e., no more then 3 or 4 words, and simple.
What is the Assignment Summary?
The summary should describe, in fifty words or less, the essence of the project. That might include explaining the broad objective of the video, how it will be used, the key message to be conveyed, and perhaps the intended tone of the video (funny, serious, edgy, etc.).
Note that this is meant only to communicate enough to provide basic information and generate interest. Later on, there will be an opportunity to develop a creative brief that will provide the full details of the project intent and requirements.
What is the Assignment Duration?
Assignments must run for either 30 or 45 days. The 30 day period has proved to be adequate and effective, although the community tends to prefer the 45 days, in order to allow time to plan and fit filming into busy schedules.
Video submissions will arrive throughout the period, but the large majority of submissions tends to come in the last few days of the assignment period.
What is the Assignment Launch Date?
This is the preferred date for starting the assignment, including posting on the Poptent site and notification of the creator community. The assignment can be launched as early as five days after receipt of payment. The end date will be either 30 or 45 days from the selected launch date (depending on the assignment duration chosen above).
What is a creative brief?
The creative brief sets out the creative task for this assignment. It should explain the client's objectives and provide information on the target audience and the messages the brand wants the video to communicate. (Standard questions can be seen under the assignment specifications below.)
What is the Assignment Specifications?
This section provides an alternative to uploading a full creative brief. Simply answer the set of questions below about the creative requirements for this assignment.
What is the Video Required?
Indicate what type of video this is meant to be, e.g., an ad for TV or the Internet, a viral video, a testimonial, etc. Please also specify the length, e.g., 15 seconds, 30 seconds, up to 2 minutes.
What are the Awards Announcements?
Please indicate a date by which you will make decisions about selecting videos as winners and for use. This should ideally be within no more than 2-3 weeks after the deadline for submissions.
What is the Background?
This section is meant to give the creator some overview of the campaign.
Tell us a bit about the background to the campaign, the general market and competitive conditions, any important information about the company. It would be useful as well to summarize simply the "who and what -- who is the audience and what are we trying to say to that audience?"
What is the Objective of the Video?
What do you want your consumer/customer to do as a result of this video? Is it about building awareness of your brand, increasing preferences for it, getting them to purchase? Do you want viewers to pass the video on to friends, creating viral possibilities?
Who is the target audience?
Explain the demographics and attitudes of your target consumers. Are you trying to reach young or old, rich or poor, urban or rural? Adventurous travelers or stay at homes? Any insights about how your consumers view the category or your brand would be helpful.
What is the single most important message the video should convey?
What do you want consumers to take from the ad? Explain this in no more than one or two sentences if possible.
What are the reasons to believe your message?
What do you want your consumer/customer to do as a result of this video? Is it about building awareness of your brand, increasing preferences for it, getting them to purchase? Do you want viewers to pass the video on to friends, creating viral possibilities?
What are Mandatory Elements?
Please list any elements that must be included in the video, such as the logo or a URL. Please also identify any things that must not be in the video, e.g., drunkenness. Note that our general guidelines prohibit nudity, profanity and ethnic or racial slurs.
What is the Brand Logo?
This is the standard logo for your brand. It will appear on the Assignment Page, in search results, your Brand Profile and discussion town halls.
What is the Assignment Image?
This image will represent your assignment on Poptent. It could be a specific product logo, a simple design script, or a product image. It will appear on the assignment page and in Poptent search results.
What is the Assignment Assets?
These are electronic files, provided by the brand sponsor, that can be used in creating the videos. They are available only to those who register for the assignment, and agree to the assignment terms and conditions, and their use is restricted to the assignment.
